Warning:

Battery condition is extremely important. No voltage regulator can work correctly with a bad or weak battery. Always fully charge your battery before performing any charging system tests or replacing parts. If there is any doubt, have the battery load tested or replaced.

The OEM version for some applications of this voltage regulator will have an extra red wire used for voltage sensing. Our regulator does not include or need this wire, as the voltage is sensed directly from the battery connection. If your original had one it is no longer necessary. You can tape or heatshrink the red wire on the motors' harness, and tie it up securely.
