Motorcycle Body Armour & Protection

Body armour is the gear that takes the hit when a jacket alone is not enough, spreading and absorbing impact across your back, chest and joints. Levels of protection
Most armour is rated CE Level 1 or Level 2, with Level 2 absorbing more impact for less transmitted force. A back protector is the highest-value piece for most riders, worn under a jacket or in a jacket's armour pocket. Impact vests add chest and back coverage in one layer, and airbag vests from Helite inflate on impact for the most coverage available. Match the level and coverage to how and where you ride.

Fit and layering
Armour only works if it stays over the area it protects, so look for adjustable straps and a snug fit that still lets you move. Check that the piece fits under your existing jacket, and confirm CE ratings rather than assuming, since coverage and certification vary by product.
