What is the difference between a Stage 1 and Stage 2 Hot Cam? Stage 1 adds bottom and mid-range punch and normally works with the stock valve springs and pistons. Stage 2 is the aggressive race profile: more top-end power, but it often wants stiffer springs, more compression and better fuel.

Do I need a fuel or jetting change with a new cam? Usually yes. A hotter cam moves more air, so a dirt bike or quad will run lean without richer jetting or a fuel controller, and that is where power gains are lost or engines are damaged.
