Quick recap…Joey White and his guest; Lacey White joined the DRIVEN crew last winter for the Ultimate Winter Getaway, staged from The Chalet at Cormack (Cormack, NL). We brought you Lacey’s overview of the CKX package last spring and now, here’s Joey’s take...

Part of Joey’s Ultimate Winter Getaway contest win was getting decked out head to toe with CKX gear…after the contest ride, we wanted to give Joey a chance to share with us his thoughts on the CKX gear…here’s what Joey had to say;
The CKX Titan Carbon Fiber Helmet is the only way to go. Its super light design makes those long days riding in the backcountry seem so natural. Its drop-down muzzle is great when you pull up next to your riding buddies for a quick chat or when you’re aggressively riding and you just need a breath of fresh air. This helmet comes with two pairs of goggles which are necessary on any day of riding. My go to pair is the full vented goggles. I found these never to steam up during playful riding, while the non-vented pair held some moisture on certain days. After a couple days of wearing the helmet, I did make some adjustments that better suited me. I swapped the neoprene removable breath guard for the rubber breath guard. The neoprene guard collected moisture and later froze while this wasn’t an issue with the rubber one. I also found the long chin curtain a bit excessive, so I switched to the short curtain which was much more comfortable. These small changes suited me perfectly. The quick connect/ release strap is icing on the cake. It only takes seconds to put on or take off these Titan helmets.

All and all this is a 10/10 helmet with lots of features and I love to wear it.

After reviewing all of CKX’s snowsuits from the DRIVEN webstore, I chose the CKX Elevation one piece suit in camel color. I love the color and I felt the design of this suit best suited my style of riding and Newfoundland's weather. It is slightly insulated and manufactured rated 8 for breathable and 9 wind and water. When sizing for this suit be sure to review the CKX measuring chart to find your size. I’m normally large but I measured a medium on the CKX chart so that’s what I ordered and It fits perfectly with a little room to spare. This was my first one piece suit and I was very excited to try it.

It didn’t take me very long to fall in love with this suit. It is so light and comfortable you hardly realize it’s a snowsuit. The one piece suit trumps the two piece by not creating the bulky double overlap layer of a two piece snowsuit. The Elevation suit is comfortably warm and airtight from top to bottom if you wish. We put it to the test during this trip riding in rain, freezing temperatures, even a blizzard and still returned to camp each day dry and warm. These key factors proved to me how waterproof and breathable this suit really is. The ventilation in these suits is very favorable. I would open my thigh vents, chest vent, arm vents and it’s like having an air conditioned suit for those aggressive sessions while still keeping me warm and dry, even in the rain. The padded knees add extra comfort during riding and are untraceable when walking or standing.

I have been an avid snowmobiler now for 18 years and have tested a lot of other high end brands such as Klim and 509. I’m proud to say that CKX really stepped up their game and blew their competitors out of the water with this line up. This is now my go to suit and helmet and I can’t wait to see how it continues to evolve.

As part of the Ultimate Winter Getaway, Joey and Lacy received CKX gear and joined the DRIVEN crew at The Chalet at Cormack for a number of days/nights…a blast was had and lifetime memories were cemented into the sledding bank.
