SBS Brake Pads
SBS makes brake friction and nothing much else, which is why the range is so specific: sintered compounds for road and off-road, ceramic pads for lighter machines and scooters, plus the brake pins and hardware that go with a proper pad change.
Compound choice matters more than most riders expect. A sinter pad that is right for a heavy touring bike is not what a 150 scooter wants, and the wrong pick shows up as noise, dust or a lever that never quite firms up. Tell us the bike and how you ride it and we will point you at the compound.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between SBS sintered and ceramic pads? Sintered pads bite harder and handle heat and wet better, which suits heavier and faster bikes. Ceramic pads are quieter with less rotor wear, which suits lighter machines and scooters.
Do I need to replace the brake pins with the pads? Not always, but worn or seized pins are a common cause of uneven pad wear and a soft lever. If the old pins are grooved, replace them while the caliper is apart.
