Take 120/70-17: 120 is the width in millimetres, 70 is the aspect ratio (sidewall height as a percentage of the width), and 17 is the wheel diameter in inches. Usually not worth it. A wider tire can rub the swingarm, change how the bike steers, and sit poorly on a rim that was not built for it. Stick with your stock size unless a shop confirms your bike can take more.
