Motorcycle Riding Jeans
Riding jeans give you abrasion protection without the race-suit look. Modern pairs weave aramid or UHMWPE fibres like Covec and Kevlar into denim that passes CE abrasion tests, so you can ride to work, walk into the office and never look like you just stepped off a track day.
Single Layer or Lined?
Single layer jeans weave the protective fibre directly into the denim, so they wear lighter and cooler, which matters in a Canadian July. Lined jeans add a separate aramid layer inside regular denim for a heavier but often cheaper build. Either way, look for a CE marking: AA rated jeans handle highway slides, while A rated pairs suit city speeds.
Armour and Fit
Most riding jeans ship with CE level 1 or 2 knee armour and hip pockets, and brands like Bull-It, Scorpion, Dainese and Joe Rocket sell in standard waist and length sizing with slim, straight and relaxed cuts. Check whether armour is included or sold separately, and size for a seated riding position, since knee armour that sits right when standing usually rides low on the bike.
