What do the numbers on a dirt bike tire mean?

Take 80/100-21: 80 is the width in millimetres, 100 is the aspect ratio (sidewall height as a percent of the width), and 21 is the rim diameter in inches. How do I choose the right terrain tire?

What is the difference between a front and rear dirt bike tire?

Tube or tubeless?

Most dirt bikes run tubes, so you will usually fit a fresh tube with the new tire. A few adventure and enduro tires are tubeless. Always run a heavy-duty tube unless both your rim and tire are rated tubeless.

How long do dirt bike tires last?

It depends on the terrain and how hard you ride. Soft race compounds can wear in a handful of rides, while harder trail tires last a season or more. Replace them once the knobs round off, tear, or start to chunk.

What tire pressure should I run?

Most riders run between 12 and 15 psi for trail and track, drop lower in sand and mud for a bigger footprint, and go a little higher on rocky hard-pack to protect the rim. Always check the pressure when the tires are cold.
